The Ramada Hotel is on the corner of Deansgate and Market Street in the heart of Manchester City Centre opposite Marks & Spencer/Harvey Nicks, and yes, it was used in both locations. The cemetary location in 'To be a somebody is Agecroft' (Salford Manchester). The scene where the 'Sun Journalist' Moony is followed by Albie, and in a later shot is seen walking out of her office is the Manchester Evening News building on Deansgate Manchester. The end scene where Fitz hears the explosion of a letter bomb sent to Moony is, Albert Square in front of Manchester City Town Hall. The school in 'The Big Crunch' is Hope High Eccles/Salford.

The outdoor scene in the Big Crunch when he’s talking to the schoolgirl walking along a path next to athletics hurdles is the fields in between Pendelton 6th Form College (in shot), and these fields separated Buile Hill High from the 6th Form. It’s defo, as I went to Buile Hill in the early 80’s. Also reckon the ‘snug’ room in ‘Brotherly Love’ episode 3 is the Duke of York in Eccles.

Still love Cracker! Wish it would come back. I know I’m late on this forum but interested in finding out where the film locations were for it, thanks for those already added. Still cant find where the house would have been though.

I’m pretty sure Ali’s corner shop (to be a somebody) is at Mauldeth Road in south Manchester. As Albie exits the bus you can see Michaels fish and chip shop which is still there today. He crosses the road and heads towards the shop. A row of Victorian houses can be seen down the side street adjacent to the first shop he passes. They have since been demolished. What was Ali’s shop and two other run down empty shops in the episode is now part of a big Co-op. The buildings have since been knocked down and a newly built Co-op is in its place.

anyone know the location of the "Church of Souls" in series 2 episode 4-6 "The Big Crunch"? This is Sale United Reformed Church on Montague Road in Sale, completely unchanged in the almost 30 years since that series of Cracker was filmed.

Been down to Castlefield this evening, in Brotherly Love was the area where the Wharf pub and Castle Quay used for filming the prostitute scenes where one of the women was dumped? At first we thought Cassidy had done it but later transpires Maggie his wife did the murders. Big Cracker fan, watching ‘One Day a Lemming will fly’ now.
