Are you referring to Robert Pastorelli?

I didn't see the point of the US remake back in 1997, and I still don't now i'm afraid. If US audiences watched the original and didn't get it or whatever, then so be it. But I find it hard to believe they wouldn't have. I just didn't like the way much of what made the original series and the character of Fitz so great was ripped apart to make more things accessible over there.
However, none of it was really the fault of the late Robert Pastorelli. He was not a bad actor by any means. Any actor was going to have a tough time portraying Fitz after Robbie Coltrane because he really did make the role his own.

Take heart. A few of us Yanks across the pond do in fact "get" Cracker and dislike the inept US remake as much as you do. I admit that UK television is superior to most of the slop we get sthingy fed over here.
