The overnight viewing figures are in for last night's showing of 'Nine Eleven' on ITV1.
According to MediaGuardian, the programme attracted an average of 8.1 million viewers, and a 38% share of the avaiable audience between 9-11pm. It comfortably won its timeslot, with its best competition coming from Jane Eyre on BBC1 which could only manage 5.5 million viewers.
Although its not as high as the viewing figures back in the 90's, its important to remember how much more choice people have these days. On the whole then, a good figure, considering ITV's recent drama's such as 'Rebus', 'Wire in the Blood', 'Life Begins' and 'Midsomer Murders' are sturgglng to get 6 million viewers.

I really hope so, I would love to see more episodes. 8.1 million is a very decent figure and like you said it probably outshone all of ITV's programmes during that week.
