Hey all,
I am doing audience research for a paper. What do you like about Cracker that you didn't get from Law and Order/NYPD Blue/Homicide: Life on the Street? My focus is on how U.S. audiences received Cracker when it ran on A & E. Also, what reasons do you think Cracker would not be as successful in the states in comparison to other crime dramas. Thank you!!

Thank you!! Well, I'm British obviously, so I related to it more culturally, although I did like NYPD Blue. It may not be as succesful in the US because the audiences prefer more black-and-white religious/right wing morality. I says uncomfortable things and goes to morally uncomfortable and morally ambiguous places about sexism, rape, racism etc, in a non-judgemental way, and it doesn't have a good guy winning type of feel to it so much, as many character are flawed people.
